Linearized OLED Monitor
Conventional off-the-shelf LCD monitors used by other VEP/ERG manufacturers introduce an undesirable luminance artifact that contaminates the response.
EvokeDx utilizes a cutting-edge, linearized Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) monitor which eliminates the luminance artifact, avoiding an unwanted skewed response. Additional benefits include microsecond timing (10x faster than standard LCDs) providing an additional measure of precision.
Konan's patented Isolated Check VEP (icVEPTM) is a steady state, low contrast stimulus pattern that is thought to specifically target the magnocellular on pathway.
The icVEP stimulus is presented as multiple, short runs (instead of a single, long run), enabling more reliable data collection while making the test easier on the patient.
Clinical Evidence - Studies
SBIR Glaucoma investigation, Phase I (Columbia) and Phase II (Yale, Hamilton Eye Univ. TN, and Univ Alabama Optometry), reported 94% and 92% accuracy respectively in separating glaucomatous from non-glaucoma patients using the patented icVEP protocol. An independent assessment in June 2013 in Beijing (TongRen and YouYi) report equivalent findings using icVEP: "high accuracy demonstrates the value as an aid in the diagnosis of open angle Glaucoma."

Integrated Gaze Tracker
EvokeDx utilizes a sophisticated IR gaze tracker to assist in ensuring the patient is initially positioned correctly and remains fixated during the test. A graphical heat map provides the operator with real-time feedback.
Synchronized Data Collection
Synchronized data collection significantly enhances measurement precision. It avoids asynchronous errors that result from side-lobe leakage. (where VEP responses, other than the one of interest, can contaminate or leak into the measurement of the prior or following frequency component).
